Acre is working with a high profile organisation that sits at the heart of the sustainability and resource use space. They have recently gone through a major reorganisation and are currently recruiting a Project Manager.
The aim of the position is to assist in the delivery of the strategy to reduce resource use and increase waste prevention in the construction sector supply chain and refurbishment projects.
The role is split down into two key areas; the first is to project manage the timely delivery of projects to the highest possible standards by external technical consultants. The projects provide the organisation with tools to implement the strategy. The second side of the role is to establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders utilising the tools in order to get buy in and support for the strategy.
Specific project responsibilities will include:
- Stakeholder networking, liaising with internal teams to contribute to the marketing and communication of projects, assisting in the preparation of regular progress reports, and developing, tendering for, and managing a portfolio of projects

Essentially you will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of the sustainability space ideally with a focus on the supply chain
- Experience in project management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest possible standard
- An ability to build consensus and partnership relationships with key stakeholders and clients
In addition you will be educated to a degree level (or equivalent) in a related discipline, a formal project management qualification is desirable

Acre has been engaged by a high profile, globally recognised household brand name in the technology space to recruit a Recycling and Environmental Affairs Manager. The purpose of the position is to ensure compliance and back office management of national WEEE, batteries and packaging take back legislations in Japan, in addition to ensuring the organisation is up to date with all relevant environmental legislation and compliance.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Ensuring successful compliance in accordance with WEEE, batteries and packaging legislations
- Collating and reporting recycling data, both internally and externally
- Liaising directly with a number of stakeholders, including customers and internal finance, product, sales, and compliance teams, actioning information requests when required
- Representing the organisation externally on recycling and wider environmental issues
- Scanning the horizon to ensure the organisation is aware of any upcoming legislative changes within the environmental space
The successful candidate will have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, working under pressure to tight time frames. In addition you will have:
- Demonstrable compliance experience in either WEEE, batteries, or packaging, ideally within a large multi-national electronics organisation
- An understanding of the wider environmental legislative space
- Exposure to the wider environmental engineering space including energy, chemicals or LCA
- Excellent level of speaking, reading and writing skills in English and Japanese is essential

Job Purpose:
- To manage and grow a Sustainability consultancy capability within the client.
- To develop the Sustainability Business Plan, focusing on providing solutions and advice to external and internal clients relating to sustainability policies, strategy, legislation and design.

Key Duties:
- To remain fully informed and keep up to date with all current and future legislation, best practice and innovation relating to Sustainability.
- To advise clients and contracts about sustainability requirements, legislation and the effects of climate change, including but not limited to carbon efficiency, energy demand, energy savings, water and fossil fuel consumption, bio-diversity, materials and recycling.
- To identify and co-ordinate the design and delivery of sustainability schemes and studies.

- To develop highways asset network resilience strategies.
- To help develop energy saving operational and highway asset network management strategies to reduce carbon.

- To provide sustainability advice and assessments for design and construction activities to ensure that solutions are fit for purpose, resource efficient, resilient, and adaptable.
You should have experience of leading sustainability teams and coordinating sustainability interfaces with other technical disciplines in the transportation (highways, railways, aviation) sector, coupled with some experience of asset management principles applied to design, construction and maintenance of highways schemes. You should also be a chartered member (or equivalent) of a professional institution, have broad quality management experience and an understanding of Health & Safety requirements related to Sustainability and Environmental Management. It would also be advantageous to have an appreciation of design codes (DMRB, MCDHW, etc) relevant to Sustainability.

The business operation, with agriculture at its core, has diversified into recycling and anaerobic digestion. The Head of Operations is being recruited to work closely with the Managing Director to drive the business forward in both a commercial and operational sense.

As Head of Operations there will be a diverse range of responsibilities, however initially these will include:
- Working closely with the senior management team to ensure smooth running and growth of the business
- Ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance is maintained and ISO 14001 and 9001 certification is gained - including interfacing with external stake holders and regulatory bodies where required
- Managing the business development function to increase the feedstock volume for the anaerobic digestion facility
- Working closely with the team to ensure the most efficient use of resources, specifically around recycling logistics
Essential requirements:
- An operational and commercial management background ideally within the waste, recycling or anaerobic digestion sectors with some client facing experience
- Experience with environmental management and compliance, including interfacing with regulatory bodies
- Experience with transport or logistics, ideally holding a CPC
- A confident, professional approach with a the ability to hit the ground running and create innovative
You will be working very closely with a tight knit team; flexibility and the ability to communicate clearly with a range of stake holders is essential.
