In 2007 Acre identified the need to go deeper into the evolving and unmapped CSR job market. In partnership with CSR publication Ethical Performance and specialist consultancy Acona, Acre established the CSR Salary Survey which surveyed corporate social responsibility professionals in the UK. The survey provided the first real insight into the job functions, salaries, bonuses and backgrounds of these professionals and has since been repeated annually, attracting more participants and growing to include all the faculties of corporate responsibility around the world. The report is now recognised as the definitive survey of the global corporate responsibility job market.

The Carbon Salary Survey was first produced by Acre in partnership with Thomson Reuters and consultancy Acona in 2009 to help provide a base level of understanding of the global carbon job market and the professionals working within it. The survey investigates a wide range of aspects of the climate change, low carbon and renewable energy markets. We’re confident the annual carbon salary survey will remain a valuable piece of research in understanding the professionals in this space and how their jobs, salaries and satisfaction levels evolve as the sector develops.
